Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on the 13th of December, 1989 in Pennsylvania's West Reading. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for the past 20 years. Her tales about young love and heartbreak have gained her widespread popularity during the 21st Century. Swift had a passion for music at an early age. She quickly moved up the ranks, starting as a child actor before performing in front of an audience of thousands. The moment Swift performed The Star-Spangled Banner in front of a Philadelphia 76ers game at the age of 11 she had already begun creating songs. After that, she started playing the guitar. Swift was inspired by artists in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks to create original material which reflected the alienation she experienced at 13 years old. Swift was just thirteen when her parents made the decision to sell their Pennsylvania farm and relocate into Hendersonville Tennessee. She could spend all of her energy to approaching the country music labels that were based in Nashville.
